Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 October 2026. These terms apply to the Bhasini website (bhasini.com), the Bhasini app
for Windows, the Bhasini MCP server (the local Bhasini.Mcp package and the hosted server at
mcp.bhasini.com) and the Bhasini plugin for Claude (together, "Bhasini"), published by Codegres
("we", "us"). By using Bhasini you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
The service
Bhasini lets you type, transliterate and convert text in the scheduled languages of India. It is free and needs no account. We may change, suspend or stop any part of Bhasini at any time, including the hosted MCP server.
Open-source software
Bhasini's source code is published under the MIT License at github.com/Codegres-com/Bhasini. The license governs your use of the code. These terms govern your use of the services we run, such as the website and the hosted MCP server. The license doesn't give permission to use the Bhasini name or logo in a way that suggests Codegres endorses or operates something it doesn't.
Your text
Text you type, convert or send to Bhasini's tools is yours. We claim no rights to it and don't store it. How data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Don't use Bhasini to break the law or anyone's rights, and don't:
- overload, attack or disrupt the hosted services, or try to get around their rate limits (currently 120 requests a minute per client for the hosted MCP server);
- use the hosted services to run a competing bulk transliteration service without asking us first;
- present Bhasini's output as an official government document or translation.
We may block traffic that breaks these rules or harms the service for others.
Accuracy
Bhasini writes text by rule: it changes letters and sounds, and it does not translate. Output can contain mistakes, and a script may lack a letter, in which case the nearest one is used. Check anything important before relying on it, especially names, legal or official documents, and medical or financial information.
AI assistants and other providers
When you use the Bhasini MCP server through an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, that assistant's own terms and privacy policy apply to it. We don't control how an assistant chooses to call Bhasini's tools or uses their results. Bhasini also relies on third parties, including GitHub (website hosting), Cloudflare (hosted MCP server), Google Fonts, your browser's speech recognition for voice typing, and Razorpay for sponsorship payments, each under its own terms.
Sponsorship
Sponsorship payments are voluntary contributions to the project. They are processed by Razorpay under its terms and don't buy a separate service, support commitment or availability guarantee.
No warranty
Bhasini is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted availability, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Codegres is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of Bhasini. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use Bhasini after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
