How to type in Malayalam

1. The editor above is already set to Malayalam. Click in it and start typing.
2. Phonetic: spell each word as it sounds. The whole word is redrawn as you type, so namaskaaram turns into നമസ്കാരം letter by letter.
3. InScript: if you learned the standard Indian keyboard, switch to InScript and type Malayalam letters directly.

• M types the anusvara, H the visarga, and .h an explicit virama.
• Use _ to stop two letters from joining.
• Open the Keys panel to see every Malayalam letter and the keys that type it. Tap a letter to insert it, which also helps on phones.
• Turn on native digits to type ൧൨൩ instead of 123.
